Preview of photos to come. Can’t wait until the rest are up, they are creepy as hell, but when the two of us come together, I feel we make a relentless and incredibly creative duo. Its always a random day when we do our shoots, one of us will get an idea, get really passionate about it, and run like hell with it. We never ask anything of each other really, except patience and cooperation. We have fun, revert back to childhood days of dress up, gossip and frolicking around in the sun. Sometimes we hop in the car, drive out in the country (whichever direction looks more pleasing as its all around us here), and either find a field or an abandoned house to creep into. The latter of the two happens more often than one would think, and the houses or barns are always chock full of nostalgia and kitsch. I mean, you are walking into someone else s old home, somewhere where a family full of love once lived, often stumbling on the treasures or trashes that always seem so haphazardnessly tossed about. We try to convey that essence, I think, when we shoot together. I am not a professional model, nor am I trying to be one. But I do believe in the power of photography, I believe that they can convey something which we otherwise could not define. They let us show the many sides that make up a person. I’m sure Jackie feels the same way about her photography, to convey a message, a moment, a thought, a sudden vision of beauty. Sometimes when we go some time without seeing a person, we immediately believe they haven’t been doing as they should, or wonder what they look like now, what they are into, and this is a way for me to show people that. So, on Thursday, October 13, 2011, I thought this would was cool :)
